Have you ever seen an advertisement for something and then decided to go buy it?
Most of us like to think that advertising does not affect our choices. When it comes to alcohol advertising, though, at least some of us are wrong. One study found that when the amount of advertising in a city increases, the amount of alcohol people there drink also rises.

The alcohol industry in the U.S. spends more than $1 billion on advertising each year. That’s about $20 per American over age 21. But they advertise to everyone, not only to adults of legal drinking age.
